With the latest PEFC certification, our customers can rest assured that the wood we use in our wooden homes comes from forests that are sustainably managed and where compliance with predefined environmental, socio-social and ethical standards is always ensured.
We only use the highest quality wood with traceable origins
We obtained the certification for our participation in a sustainable supply chain, using the highest quality wood for the wooden structural components of our houses. With this certificate, we can ensure the traceability of our wood’s origin, thereby contributing to the protection of global forests. Due to the introduction of the traceability system, Jelovica has better control over the management of material resources. Our house structures are made from wood imported from trustworthy sources and therefore meet the conditions for participation in public tenders in accordance with the Regulation on Green Public Procurement.
Our wooden house production in Preddvor is ecological, clean and emits zero carb0n since we produce more thermal and electrical energy than we use for our operations. We use only natural resources – water, sun and wood – for energy production. Our houses are made from wood as well as other natural and health-friendly materials. In caring for the environment, compared to other manufacturers, we place additional efforts into achieving our sustainable vision. We transfer our responsibility for the environment into everyday reality with environmentally friendly actions of recycling, reducing usage and reusing.
Facilitating coexistence with nature
As we want to actively participate in the spreading ecological awareness, we include economic, environmental and social aspects in the company’s business decisions. Our vision is to achieve higher energy efficiency, preserve natural heritage and ultimately provide a higher quality of life. For our green and sustainable endeavors, we have received the title of an Environmentaly Friendly Company in 2012. One year, later, we also received the Green Mission Award for our passive wooden kindergarten in Preddvor.
