What are the benefits of a modern prefabricated home?

Insulation
The external envelope of each Jelovica home is designed using four different external wall systems, which allow for adaptation to the customer's needs. The construction of walls, ceilings and roofs is based on the thoughtful use of wood and insulation, which allows for high thermal stability and effective protection against external influences.

Heating and cooling
Since heat evenly spreads from the floor upwards, underfloor heating provides comfortable warmth at lower room temperatures. It brings greater comfort, ensures lower energy consumption and reduces dust circulation, which is particularly beneficial for people suffering from allergies. The piping of the underfloor heating is hidden from sight, allowing for greater freedom in furnishing.

Ventilation
The heat recovery unit operates on the principle of two separate air streams – exhaust air that is expelled from indoor spaces and fresh air from outside. In the heat exchanger, the exhaust air is cooled, transferring its heat to the fresh incoming air, which then enters the already pre-heated room. This not only reduces the need for additional heating, but also ensures the best air quality in the house with filtration, which is crucial for the health of the residents.

Windows and doors
At Jelovica, we recommend wooden windows and doors because they best complement the natural concept of a wooden house. We manufacture them at our own production facility, which allows us to maintain complete control over quality. In addition to wooden building joinery, we also offer solutions incorporating PVC and aluminum, which allow for a plethora of insulation and design adaptations.

Sustainability taken a step further
To further increase energy independence and reduce environmental footprint, we also provide the option of solar power plant installation.
Among other smart solutions, our houses can also be equipped with an electric energy storage system and EV charging station, which allows for complete energy self-sufficiency and sustainable mobility.
Constantly improving
Jelovica combines its rich history of wooden construction with the most modern expert know-how. When developing homes, we collaborate with top Slovenian andforeign institutions, such as the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, the ZRMK Building and Civil Engineering Institute, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture at the University of Maribor and the InnoRenew Centre of Excellence.
We are engaged in the development of home components in the areas of acoustics, fire safety, flood protection as well as mechanical resistance and stability testing. Additionally, we are studying the reuse of waste materials from the production process in manufacturing structural bearing elements. For these endeavours, we have received a Circular Economy Innovation Award, highlighting our commitment to sustainable development and responsible resource use.
