More than 100 years of history
1905–1955
Beginnings
In 1905, a sawmill is established in Preddvor, where our factory still stands today. After rapid growth and a merger with the Gorenjska Forestry Administration, the Jelovica Škofja Loka inter-cooperative timber combine is established in 1955.
1942-1962
Market leaders
Jelovica becomes the leading provider of modern prefabricated wooden houses in Slovenia and builds a factory for production from smaller panels.

Award in Yugoslavia
In Ljubljana, the construction of the Murgle settlement begins, designed based on the latest architectural trends.
Jelovica receives an award for supplying 200 prefabricated homes to Skopje, North Macedonia (former Yugoslavia).

1975-1985
Expansion
Jelovica acquires an important project for the construction of large prefabricated facilities in Iraq.
It introduces advanced technology for the production of prefabricated buildings from smaller panels.
It develops the S-type series of prefabricated wooden houses, which stands out for its exceptionally attractive architecture.
In the next 20 years, as many as 3,184 S-type are sold across Slovenia.

Energy self-sufficiency
Our production is completely energy self-sufficient. We obtain all the energy we need from our own wind and solar power plants and by burning leftover wood from production.
Top-quality materials
Wood can be recycled or reused. It is an excellent thermal insulator appropriate for earthquakes and fire-safe construction. We use only certified wood.
Carbon-negative construction
Our construction is carbon positive – this means it stores more carbon dioxide than it produces. Combined with energy efficiency, this feature makes Jelovica the right partner for a sustainable future.
